January 2024 Update

Below are the financial statements for the Alaska Synod for the month and year-to-date ending January 31, 2024.

Mission support to the Alaska Synod in January was $45K bringing year-to-date mission support to $387K. This was 101% of budget and $9K ahead of last year.
The synod’s general fund is showing a 6.5 net loss year-to-date, but this is largely due to the non-cash write down of the prepaid rent. The prepaid rent ends in early 2025.
The synod’s general fund cash balance remained relatively unchanged from last year and restricted cash decreased by $35K - largely due to a disaster and Thornton Memorial accounts being paid out.
Investments are up by $124K from last year thanks to market recovery in the latter part of the year.
