                                 Alaska Synod Core Values

As a synod of the ELCA, who are we and what do we value?
When are we at our best?

Over the next few months, the congregations and ministries in our synod will work on answering those important questions as we take part in a process to discern and articulate our key values.

Please click here to learn more about the core values process, and the central role
our core values will play in the election of our next bishop.

                            Synod Youth Trip

6th - 12th grade youth from multiple ELCA congregations (yes, and friends!) will travel together to Valdez, Alaska, for service, fun, and outdoor adventure, June 26 - June 30, 2023. Registration cost is $50, payable to your congregation, though scholarships are available if needed.

Congregational carpools are forming up in Soldotna, Anchorage, and Fairbanks areas, and will leave either Sunday evening or Monday morning to be able to meet up near Glenallen, AK, at midday Monday, and continue the roadtrip caravan to Valdez together.

We'll sleep indoors at Valdez's Epiphany Lutheran-Episcopal Church, share meals as a group, partner up with other providers for service activities (food bank, churches, animal shelter, etc.), do some day hiking on established trails, and find old and new friends along the way.

Organizers and leaders include ELCA pastors, youth directors and, background-checked adult chaperones.
