Seminary Support Funds
David Ingram, Fairbanks, is a seminary student through Wartburg Seminary's Collaborative Learning program.
The Alaska Synod offers two funds to support seminary students and pastors. Please consider a one-time or recurring gift to one or both of these funds. Your gift makes a difference in preparing leaders for the whole church and those who serve here in Alaska.
Seminary Scholarship Fund Investing in leaders, securing the future Alaskans who belong to one of our synod congregations or mission developments who have received a positive entrance decision to ELCA Candidacy may receive financial support for their preparation for rostered ministry in the ELCA as either a pastor or a deacon. Contributions can be made through the synod office or the Region 1 Financial Services Office. The fund was established in 2016. |
Seminary Tuition Reimbursement Fund
Supporting Christ’s servants, securing the future
Synods who recognize and address the burden of seminary debt payment for first-call pastors attract more interest from seminary seniors. This fund assists first-call pastors in tuition reimbursement by paying seminary debt. Priority will be given to those earning less than full-time compensation and/or below synod guidelines. Contributions can be made through the synod office or the Region 1 Financial Services Office. This fund was established in 2016. To date, more than $3500 has been dispersed.
