2020 Advent Devotional of the Alaska Synod
While most our connections as the body of Christ across the synod remain virtual, this Advent we can reflect and pray together, thanks to the contributions of writers from across the state. The 2020 Synod Advent Devotional, Overflowing with Hope, is finished and available to download below.
The 26 writers for this year’s devotional came from Shishmaref and Prince of Wales Island, and places in between. They shared a brief reflection on texts from the daily lectionary; most are stories of God at work in their lives and the ways they see the hope of Christ in these times. Thank you to all the writers who shared their encouragement and stories.
You may print copies of the devotional from the synod website, and daily posts will be on the synod Facebook page starting November 29, the first day of Advent, through December 24. A limited number of printed copies are available, primarily for areas of the state with unreliable internet access or individuals with no access. Please email elcaalaska@gmail.com if you need to request printed copies; they will be available starting Friday, November 20 and quantities are limited.
May your Advent overflow with the hope we have in Christ Jesus, as you are uplifted by God’s word and the living word from our siblings in Christ across the synod.
